“As long as children do not have equal access to books, we will never live in a truly equal society.”

Dick Robinson, President of Scholastic Books

The Book Drop program brings highly-acclaimed authors to economically disadvantaged and diverse Title 1 schools across the United States. The authors donate a powerful and motivating assembly that helps students of all ages and backgrounds fall in love with books and reading.
Book Drop then donates one copy of the author’s book to each student in the school.

Books to the Rescue!

For every $10 donated, we can provide a free signed book and author visit to a disadvantaged child.

Will you join us?

Book Drop's founding director, #1 NYT Bestselling author, Jennifer A. Nielsen.

How we select our Book Drop schools:

60%+ of the students qualify for free school lunch.

High English learner population.

Critically low state test scores for reading.

To whom it may concern,
Guadalupe School was absolutely thrilled to participate in a Book Drop. What a wonderful opportunity it was for our students to not only receive a book to take home, but to hear from two best-selling authors. We couldn't be more happy.
Thank you for giving Guadalupe School students the gift of reading.

Development Director, Guadalupe School

Sponsor a Drop at Your Local School!
Whether you have a specific school in mind or a general area you'd like us to search, a school sponsorship is the perfect way show your community you care!

The participating author will donate a school visit assembly to the Title 1 school. This visit has been proven to impact the way students view books and reading . After the assembly, we will have pre-signed books ready to give to each child and make certain the students know who is sponsoring the event. Sponsors are welcome to come present the books and share a brief message.

any of these children have never owned a book of their own and their likelihood of reading the book increases dramatically after interacting with the author.

Donation Amount: $5000.
*tax deductible
Impact: Approximately 500 students

Thank you for helping us make a difference! A member of our team will reach out shortly to begin organizing your Book Drop!
