Scholarship Program
Our partnership* with OpREAD helps us fulfill our mission of helping every child learn how to read. With OpREAD, we are able to provide scholarships to at-risk families in underserved communities, especially those with struggling or dyslexic readers. Scholarships may include: early screenings, Orton Gillingham tutoring for parents, tutoring materials, and even free books each month (customized to each child's skill level).

3-Part Approach
1
Early Screenings
Finding struggling readers early dramatically improves educators' ability to "close the gap." Our partnership allows us to host community events where we offer free screenings for reading disabilities or struggles, as well as provide support, resources and help to parents. We frequently find 10 to 20 at-risk children at each of these community events.
2
Early & Appropriate Interventions
Appropriate intervention is an absolute must. We support educators, administrators and parents through professional development, training and ongoing support, to implement structured literacy interventions, proven to be effective in teaching struggling or dyslexic children how to read.
3
Make Reading Practice Easy & Fun
We give every student and every teacher free access to DIVI-an innovative assistive technology reading platform- which dramatically improves childrens' reading experiences, success, self-worth and intrinsic motivation.
With your help, we can give families a free book on DIVI every month.

What is DIVI?
DIVI is an innovative assistive technology reading platform. It's like Sora or Epic! Books, but with a twist. DIVI tracks a child's placement in a structured literacy curriculum, then customizes any short story, article or book to each child's individual reading skill level. Essentially, it makes any book decodable, making reading practice easier and more enjoyable.
Benefits of DIVI

Choice
DIVI lets children choose from thousands of decodable stories, articles or books.

Confidence
When children succeed at reading, their confidence naturally increases

Skills Transfer
Helps children transfer newly learned skills out of the curriculum and into real-world, authentic texts.

Customization
Every short story, science article or book can be customized to each child's skill level

Self-Esteem
When success and confidence increase, self-esteem goes up, as well.

Background Knowledge & Vocabulary
Reading authentic texts gives children exposure to more vocabulary and background knowledge, two critical components of academic success.

Success
Children experience a higher level of success, all while reading more interesting texts.

Motivation
All of these contribute to feeding a child's intrinsic motivation and desire to read.

Unity
Gets teachers, students and parents all on the same page, in-sync with the curriculum, making at-home practice more effective.
