About the Company

Operation Literacy exists to ensure every child—regardless of zip code—has access to the books, experiences, and support needed to become a confident reader and lifelong learner. In response to a national literacy crisis, where fewer than four in ten U.S. fourth graders read at grade level, we work to close literacy gaps in Title I schools and underserved communities.
Through free book distribution, immersive author experiences, family engagement resources, and dynamic writing programs, we spark a love of reading while building critical literacy skills. Our programs—including Book Drop, StoryCon, and summer camps—connect students with stories, authors, and creative opportunities that help them see themselves as readers, writers, and thinkers.
By increasing access, nurturing creativity, and empowering families and educators, Operation Literacy is building a more equitable future—one where every child has the opportunity to succeed, imagine, and thrive through the power of literacy.
